Nanea at the Dole Plantation

The Dole plantation is a fun place on Oahu with activities, presentations and a country store! It was about a 45 minute ride from where we were staying in Honolulu in Wahiawa.



 We took a ride on the Pineapple Express and learned all about Hawaiian agriculture. There were many, many fields of pineapples.



We walked around the plantation gardens and saw many types of flowers and plants. Everything was so beautiful.






There was also a large country store which had all sorts of pineapple gifts. We even saw a presentation of how to cut a pineapple the right way with a special knife. 

There was a lady selling beautiful Hawaiian dresses! She also was selling Hawaiian dresses for American Girl dolls. We bought 3 of them. This dress is one of hers! See the cute flower lei!

The best treat is Dole Whip. Nanea loved hers! 



Everything in the country store is about pineapples!

I love this beautiful Holoku dress. This type of dress has been worn in Hawaii since the 1820s.   A long sleeved, yoked, loose- fitting floor-length dress without a waistline, the Holoku- today is nearly identical to the original design and is worn for mostly formal occasions. Kanani's Shave Ice Treats

Girl of the Year (2011) Kanani Akina  lives in Hawaii on the island of Kaua'i. She is a cheerful girl who wants to make life beautiful for others. Kanani loves to help out in her family's shave ice business. It doesn't hurt that she gets to taste all the delicious flavors. Kanani especially likes introducing tourists to the Hawaiian treat. "Shave ice is kind of like a snow cone but much lighter and fluffier" Kanani tells one customer "And there are tons of flavors to choose from," Kanani has fresh pineapple and bananas to use in her shave ice plus a rainbow-colored lineup of fruit syrups. Nanea's 6 Month AG Release Anniversary

Next weekend is the 6 month anniversary of when American Girl Released Nanea. That was August 27, 2017. We went to the American Girl Store in Nashville that Saturday for the big event. That was my first post here on my Nanea blog! Yesterday, I saw on American girl Doll News , that Nanea has new outfits and other things! So excited.  This is her Birthday outfit. I'm definitely getting this first! I just love the cute bow and the pineapple print! Nanea's birthday accessories. That skirt is for Nanea's dog Mele. So they can twin. So Cute! I'm getting that too sometime next month. 1940's Radio.  This pretend radio plays a popular song and real recorded news from the time. Or attach the included 3.5mm audio cable to your girl’s own electronic music player to listen to her own favorite songs. I like the old fashioned look. The audio cable looks silly. I want this too!
