Nanea Goes Fishing

Nanea loves to go fishing in the ocean. Living on an Island makes it so easy to have many favorite spots. Nanea’s favorite way to spend a day is going fishing with Papa.




Nanea's fishing set includes:
  • A fishing pole with a working reel; it has a metal weight at the end of the line to attract the magnets in the fish
  • A lure box with printed graphics and a lure
  • Three pretend tropical fish that have magnets inside
  • A viewing box that Nanea and Papa use to look down into the water for fish; it has a clear bottom, and can be used to carry the other items in the set



The state fish of Hawaii is the humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa. 
(pronounced [ˈhumuˈhumuˈnukuˈnukuˈwaːpuˈwɐʔə] 
and meaning "triggerfish with a snout like a pig"
Nanea and her Papa go shore fishing which is catching fish standing on the shoreline or wading in the surf. Nanea says the best tasting fish in Hawaii are the ono, maona, snapper, grouper, and mahi-mahi.

I love this beautiful Holoku dress. Nanea's 6 Month AG Release Anniversary

Next weekend is the 6 month anniversary of when American Girl Released Nanea. That was August 27, 2017. We went to the American Girl Store in Nashville that Saturday for the big event. That was my first post here on my Nanea blog! Yesterday, I saw on American girl Doll News , that Nanea has new outfits and other things! So excited.  This is her Birthday outfit. I'm definitely getting this first! I just love the cute bow and the pineapple print! Nanea's birthday accessories. That skirt is for Nanea's dog Mele. So they can twin. So Cute! I'm getting that too sometime next month. 1940's Radio.  This pretend radio plays a popular song and real recorded news from the time. Nanea Mitchell and Me

August 25th weekend was the big celebration at  all the American Girl stores when Nanea Mitchell was finally released to the world. It seems like a year since American Girl announced that she would be the latest BeForever doll. From the day she was announced I knew that I wanted to have her.  We went to the Nashville store that weekend for the big celebration.      "Celebrate the debut of a girl whose aloha spirit runs deep—Nanea Mitchell!
